Online & Distance Learning

The Center for Continuing Studies is committed to providing quality academic programs to students who are time and/or place bound and cannot come to our campus to attend classes during the day. As a part of this mission, we offer classes and degrees through distance learning for students without having to attend on our campus.

The courses offered by distance learning are the same academic courses that you will find on our campus and most are taught by tenured faculty in their disciplines. You can feel confident that your distance learning experience offers the same academic rigor that you will find on our campus.

SCSU utilizes leading-edge technology to deliver distance learning courses including online, interactive television, web conferencing tools, podcasting and streaming media.  Our technology partners assist us in providing students with the highest quality connectivity.

Students interested in off-campus programs can attend face-to-face with SCSU professors in their home communities.

Learn how St. Cloud State University is coping with influenza viruses

H1N1 is here

St. Cloud State has a number of cases of influenza-like illness consistent with H1N1, according to Brent Nielsen, physician and medical director of Student Health Services at St. Cloud State University.  Nielsen and director Corie Beckermann encourage students to self-isolate if they develop flu-like symptoms, which are defined as fever greater than 100 and a cough or sore throat.  Student Health Services is following U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommendations on H1N1, according to Nielsen.  Nielsen recommends that faculty, staff and students plan for absenteeism, be flexible and communicate clearly about flu-like illnesses.

Seasonal flu vaccine is available now. A vaccine for H1N1 is expected in November.

Whether you live outside St. Cloud or outside the United States, all SCSU Online students should develop a personal flu plan. The latest information about flu at SCSU is at stcloudstate.edu/emergency.
