Writing for Action

Overview:

This program demystifies writing so that participants can be more productive, efficient and confident writers. Participants will learn how to use writing as a tool for getting someone's attention, influencing others, and creating action. During the program participants write a first draft of a business communication they can use back at the office.

Audience:

Any employee who wants to be a more proactive, efficient and confident writer.

Results of the Workshop:

When you leave the program you will have a draft of a business communication you can use back at the office. Your draft will reflect the new tools; techniques and tips learned that day. Many graduates reported that by practicing these new approaches to writing for 60 days they:

Preparation for the Program:

Choose a subject you want to write about during the workshop:

  • It can be one or several letters, reports, proposals or e-mails.
  • If you don't know what to write about, brainstorm possible subjects with your manager or co-workers.
  • Collect the data you need to complete your writing task and bring it with you to the workshop.

Meet Your Presenter:

Sherry Sweetnam is an internationally known author, speaker and consultant. Sherry is a speaker who inspires people to change themselves and their business culture by presenting classic, simple and challenging communication truths. Throughout the years she has been an on-going speaker at national conventions such as Lakewood Publications, ASAE, SOCAP, and ASTD.

The dates for this full day seminar can be customized to fit you and your employees needs. the seminar can be held at the St. Cloud State University Campus or a site of your selection.
