Who Should Attend?
These programs and workshops are non-credit courses intended for anyone who wants to upgrade their skills in the practical aspects and applications of the techniques covered. They are not applicable to any degree programs at SCSU. They are designed especially for the businesses that want to improve the skills of their employees who wish to move into management and supervisory positions. They do not require formal admission to SCSU.
MAAO Certificate Requirements
While students may enter a certificate at any point and take any of the courses outlined below, to earn a certificate they must attend all of the classes and complete all assignments and exams with at least a 70%. (Formal grades will not be issued for any of these non-credit classes.)
Purpose:
The series will develop basic supervisory skills or prepare employees for supervisory positions. It centers on skill development through the use of adult learning techniques such as self-assessment, descriptions and demonstrations of correct behavior/actions, observation of models of correct behavior and skills used correctly, role-playing, feedback and assignments that can be employed on the job. The instruction emphasizes the transfer of skills to a specific situation.
