This course will cover the differences in the types of planning including Long Range Planning, Comprehensive Planning, Project Planning and Strategic Planning. We will cover the necessary attributes of Leaders and how effective planning process includes those same attributes. Because Strategic Planning is a “Leadership” responsibility we will examine differences between “leading” and “managing” as well as the between “true” leaders and “perceived” leaders. Finally, we will review a process that will ensure implementation of a plan and hold the system, and individuals, accountable for results.
John Messelt has had over 34 years of experience in Education with 26 years in Administration as a Director of Special Education, Education District Director, Superintendent of Schools and Executive Director of a Regional Service Provider in education. He continues to be directly involved in Strategic Planning for over 20 years as an associate of Cambridge Strategic Services which is a leader in providing Strategic Planning services at an international level.
