Response to intervention

This class will assist future administrators in establishing an RtI system in their schools. Future administrators will have exposure to understanding and defining their critical roles and unique features of leading and RtI building. Practical implementation strategies and troubleshooting for assessment, empirically-based instruction, and problem-solving organization across a secondary building will be discussed. Specific resources (e.g., book, articles, websites, curricula, interventions etc.) will also be shared.

Sara Johnson is the Associate Principal at Chisago Lakes High School in Lindstrom, MN. She has served as a school counselor and dean/counselor before becoming an administrator in 2003. Chisago Lakes High School is known for their innovative approach to Response to Intervention since 2004. Sara’s focus has been on establishing an effective RtI system in a high school of approximately 1200 students grades 9-12. Her presentations will provide real-life, hands on experiences for educators working to implement an RtI system at their school. She believes that all students can learn and its our role and responsibility as educators to provide them that opportunity.

This class will not be offered this year, but check back as we are hoping to offer it next year.
