As an Electronic Health Records (HER) System Technologist you will assist healthcare providers to choose, implement, train and maintain an electronic health records system. You will learn the essential components of the electronic health record and health information exchange essentials; system selection and implementation; project management and fundamentals od charge and human factors. This program is 216 hours in length offered online with live, weekly teleconferences.

Starting pay $20-$50 per hour. Employment of professional in the electronic health records field is expected to grow 20 percent by 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly known as the stimulus law, contains several deadlines to help fulfill the goal that electronic health records be available to most Americans by 2014. Billions of dollars in grants have been made available to physicians to accelerate adoption. Once this transition has been made there will be a continued need for professionals to maintain these systems.
