Effective Succession Planning/Workplace Mentoring

A model workplace includes strategies to help mentor employees and provide them with support to be successful. This mentoring can be provided to new employees, employees new to a particular job assignment, or employees that need a mid-career boost. In this seminar, participants will learn:

• What mentoring is, the benefits to mentors, mentees, and the organization
• Explain the distinctions and connections between mentoring and coaching
• Understand the benefits and requirements of becoming a mentor
• Explain role of a mentor and mentee
• Determine areas of strength and areas needing further development as a mentor
• Learn and apply skills essential to mentoring success
• Understand and use operating norms, parameters, and boundaries in the mentoring process
• Conduct difficult conversations with protégés if needed
