Bachelor of Elective Studies/Associate in Arts Degree

BES Requirements

To earn a BES degree, a student must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Completion of a minimum of 120 semester credits with at least a 2.0 grade point average.
  • Completion of the General Education and MGM requirements.
  • At least 45 semester credits of upper division (300/400 level) courses.
  • A maximum of 6 internship credits may be used as part of the 45 credit upper division requirement. Additional internship credits, however, may still be used as electives.
  • No more than 60 semester credits can be earned in any one discipline.
  • A major and/or minor program is not required, but is strongly encouraged. Students may complete majors and minors in those departments which indicate B.E.S. programs are available in the current Undergraduate Bulletin.
  • Meet all residency requirements for St. Cloud State as outlined in the current Undergraduate Bulletin (30 semester credits at SCSU and the final 6 credits before graduation at SCSU).
