Throughout the academic year there will be events and opportunities for involvement in experiences related to the book and themes related to it. Professor Glenn Davis, chair of the English Department will discuss dystopian writing from Thomas More's Utopia to Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games trilogy.

Essay Scholarship Competition:

Want to earn a scholarship for spring?  Have something to say about the Oryx and Crake? Click here for guidelines to enter our essay competition!  Completed essays are due for final submission no later than Monday, November 9 at 4 pm in Centennial Hall 208.

Margaret Atwood Public Lecture/Book Signing

Margaret Atwood is an award-winning Canadian author who has published fifteen novels and numerous collections of poems and short stories.  One of those novels is "Oryx and Crake," the first in her popular MaddAddam trilogy and the current selection for the Common Reading Program at St. Cloud State University.

Books will be available for purchase before and after the event.

SCSU students, faculty and staff - free with ID; Public admission - $10/person
