Professional Development

Professional Development Consortium

The Professional Development Consortium (PDC) consists of area school administrators and teachers from our partner districts along with TQE personnel (LINK TO PDC MEMBERSHIP).   This group meets the last Wednesday of every month from 12:30-3:00 at various sites.   The goal of the PDC is to share ideas and resources related to professional development.  PDC members regularly share district inservice schedules and opportunities and work together whenever possible to create meaningful learning opportunities for their faculty.

The PDC created and administered an online professional development needs survey in 2005-06 that was completed by almost 1400 area teachers.  The results provided a wealth of information including professional development needs, strengths, and preferred types and times of professional development.   This information is disaggregated by district and is used by the districts in planning staff development opportunities.  In addition, the results were used by the TQE staff and districts to create the 2nd annual TQE Professional Development Conference that was held on June 8, 2006.  Membership in 2006 - 2007

It is not the purpose of the TQE leadership team to predetermine what types of professional development are most meaningful, but through the data gathering and teacher reports from the various efforts underway, it is hoped that we will all have a clearer understanding of how to provide the most meaningful ongoing professional growth and development for all educators.
