Communication Studies Honor Society

Lambda Pi Eta 2014 Membership Opportunity

The Communication Studies Department would like to recognize outstanding scholastic achievement by inducting qualified students into Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the official undergraduate honor society of the National Communication Association. St. Cloud State's Beta Psi chapter was founded in 1994. Each spring we invite outstanding Communication Studies Majors and Minors to join this honorary organization.

Students who qualify for LPH membership earn:

  • A life-time membership in LPH
  • An official membership certificate and pin
  • The opportunity to wear a red and white honor cord at graduation
  • The privilege of having honor society membership indicated on transcripts
  • Recognition at the Annual Communication Studies Spring Banquet (Le St. Germain Hotel, Thursday, April 17, at 6 p.m.)

In order to qualify for membership, students must have completed at least 60 college credit hours, with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. In addition, qualified candidates must have a minimum Communication Studies GPA of 3.25, and at least 12 completed credit hours in the Communication Studies Department.

Students who meet the qualification requirements should:

E-mail a list of all of their Communication Studies courses, final CMST grades, overall G.P.A, and a contact phone number and e-mail address to:

Jennifer Senchea - Lambda Pi Eta Advisor jasenchea@stcloudstate.edu

Deadline for submission:
Friday, March 7th, 2014,

Once grades have been verified, qualifying students will be contacted with information regarding the induction process and banquet information (induction requires a one-time membership fee of $30. Honor cords are $9.45).
