The IM major is truly a hands-on learning experience in which you will connect theory to real applications using tools of the computer age from producing video to creating multimedia presentations. IM majors find employment as school technology coordinators, information technologists, technology trainer, multimedia authors, webpage designers, and computer operators.
Gain skills vital to many careers such as working with computers and technology, staff training, designing multimedia presentations, producing video, and information gathering and presenting. The IM minor complements many majors including business, education, English, graphic arts, history, mass communications, communication studies, and technology.
As with an IM minor, through the certificate program you will gain skills vital to many careers such as working with computers and technology, staff training, designing multimedia presentations, producing video, and information gathering and presenting. Your transcript will read "Instructional Technology Certificate" which will tell employers you are fluent in the use of computer-related technologies. Education majors who earn the Instructional Technology Certificate are recognized as skilled users of technology and teachers who effectively integrate technology into their classrooms. Other majors find value in the hands-on technology opportunities in the certificate program.
