Tuesday, April 30, 2013

St. Cloud State University students James Redman, Erich Rice, Sen Han, Richard Anderson, Ben Paulson, and Joel Schwarting recently presented their paper, Can a Distributed Key System Broken up Over Multiple Nodes Provide Greater Security Robustness While Meeting System Performance Requirements?, at the 2013 Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium (MISC). The group was informed that the MICS Board chose the paper to be recipient of the best graduate paper award, and was given a $250 award from MICS Chairman Dr. Mark Fienup. With the help of faculty advisor Dr. Dennis Guster the group created a working model of a distributed encryption key system that was tested and proven to work, the students will be continuing their work on the project and hope to eventually publish it in a journal.
