SCSU’s Course Mapping is Successful

Monday, April 15, 2013

St. Cloud State University (SCSU) was recently informed that the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) has approved the University’s course material for CNSS National Standards 4011 and 4016.  The course mapping to these two standards was necessary for the University to begin the re-certification process to continue to be recognized as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE) by the National Security Agency.  The University has been designated as a CAE/IAE institution since 2009 and will need to recertify for the 2014 academic year, as the designation is good for a five year period.   The CAE/IAE designation allows SCSU students to apply for the Department of Defense’s Information Assurance Scholarship Program which covers a student’s tuition and books as well as provides them with a stipend while attending school, it also provides for employment with the Federal Government after graduation.
