Cyber Crime Initiative

The Center for Information Assurance Studies in planning to offer another FREE computer forensics training class! This class will be offered in conjunction with the National Forensics Training at Mississippi State University. We anticipate that the class will be in early 2011.

In conjunction with the National Forensics Training Center, http://msu-nftc.org/, the Center for Information Assurance Studies will be offering a 40 hour training session for law enforcement. The training is free to law enforcement!

The specific classes offered are:

CF-101 Introduction to Cyber Crime

Provides a basic understanding of computer crime, a detailed “bag & tag” instruction and introduction to some of the hardware and software available for computer forensics.

CF-102 Forensics Tools & Techniques

Provides an in-depth session on the tools and techniques used for investigation of computers in criminal cases.

Prerequisite: CF-101

The training will take place on the campus of SCSU on June 27 – July 1.
