Initial Transition Points
- Students have completed and submitted a Personal Information Form (PDF: 8K / 1 page)
- Students have met with an Advisor with whom they have
discussed:
- Criteria for admission to the major
- Courses to take while awaiting results of GPA and PPST
- Student’s GPA is 2.75 and student’s PPST scores are entered on the PIF (Personal Information Form) to begin their CFS file. (Students may be provisionally accepted to begin the process of being admitted to the major with a 2.5 GPA).
- Students submitted, within 2 weeks of first visit with Advisor, a two page essay, typed and double-spaced.
- Students successfully completed an Interview, a writing sample, signed a Dispositions Contract, and completed a background study form.
- Student and Advisor completed and filed the CFS Major Application Form.
- Continuation Transition Points
- Student completed Admission to Teacher Education through the Office of the Dean of the College of Education (A110).
- Student and Advisor discussed and re-acknowledged the Dispositions Contract and progress on their Portfolios to document completion of licensure standards.
- Student completed half of the methods field placement and received a successful disposition assessment by the site supervisor.
- Student maintained a 2.75 GPA and did not receive less than a C- in any coursework necessary for the major.
- Student completed Application for student teaching.
- Final Transition Points
- Student successfully completed a Culminating Exit Seminar with other CFS cohort members and faculty.
- Student filled out application for Teacher Licensure.
- Student passed student teaching
- Student passed all 3 sections of the PPST
- Student passed the Praxis II
- Student completed the Exit 3-way interview/portfolio presentation
- Follow-up Transition Points
- Students are followed-up via a telephone interview to determine job placement and program satisfaction.
- Students complete a survey from the Dean’s office
