These resources are good for anyone who is at a stage in his/her life and career when you are faced with the "overqualified" label or you have decided you need a change.

What's Next
Web site focuses on those in their mid-career or approaching retirement phase who want to make a career change. To get to the job database, scroll down on home page and under the "Tools" section, click on job listings. Job databases consist of executive jobs in the private and non-profit sectors and users must be registered.

Encore Careers
Organization offers free information and social tools that helps individuals looking to transition to jobs in the non-profit and private sector. Job database is powered by Prime Careerbuilder - a database with a focus on baby boomers and can be accessed by the top tab "Find Your Encore Career" and selecting "Encore Career Finder".

Work from AARP
American Associate of Retired Persons is an organization that is dedicated to helping people over the age of 50 in the way they live their lives by providing resources on career changes, retirement, discrimination, health, etc. The job database system listed with AARP is powered by, a web site helping job seekers to connect with pre-screened age-friendly employers. Once apply for a job, information is submitted directly to employer.

Experience Works!
Established as an organization in 1965, Experience Works offers low income seniors training, employment, and community service opportunities. No formal jobs, but offers several programs to place seniors back into the work force.

Senior Environmental Employment Program - US Environmental Protection Agency
A program in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and grantee organization that scouts out retired and unemployed Americans over age 55 to share their expertise and skills with the EPA. To apply for program, candidates must contact grantee organizations who ultimately recruit, qualify, and handle benefits. Positions range from administration to engineering, accounting, etc.

Organization focuses on persons over age 50. Web site offers advice and a resume database, free job search and a premium job search database. Please note that the free job search database does have some entry level jobs mixed in.
Web site has an extensive job database with the majority of jobs requiring senior level experience and offers other resources on financial planning, health care, and senior living.
