2008 Boys and girls SUMMER HOCKEY Day camp
July 21 - 25, 2008
General Information:
The day camp will focus on teaching the fundamentals of hockey through individual and group drills. Skill tests will be performed daily utilizing the fundamentals worked on during camp. The camp begins on Monday July 21 and concludes on Friday July 25. The camp will conclude with a game where parents and family are encouraged to attend.
Eligibility:
All boys and girls who competed in mites to bantams during the 2007 - 2008 season.
Equipment:
Campers must provide their own equipment.
Facilities:
The SCSU Summer Hockey Camps are held at the National Hockey Center on the campus of St. Cloud State University. This facility features two Olympic sheets of ice under one roof. All participants will have a locker room to store their equipment as well as use of basketball courts, softball fields, soccer fields, pool and weight room.
Coaching Staff:
Camp Staff
The St. Cloud State University Summer Hockey School consists entirely of licensed teachers who coach college or high school hockey in the state of Minnesota. All are enthusiastic educators who genuinely want to see the players improve their skills. The nucleus of the staff consists of St. Cloud State University Huskies coaching staff: Eric Rud and Mike Gibbons. In addition, other outstanding, successful coaches will participate as guest instructors. Current players of the St. Cloud State team along with individuals who have worked with the camp in the past will serve as counselors.
St. Cloud State University 2005-present. Prior to St. Cloud State Eric served as an assistant coach at Colorado College during the 2004-2005 season. Eric was also an assistant coach with the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders of the USHL. Eric is a graduate of Colorado College.tant Coach
Assistant Coach, St. Cloud State University 2007-present. In his coaching career that spans more than 25 years, Gibbons has had the opportunity to coach at all levels of the game including high school, juniors, college and professional.
Sample Group Schedule:
7:30 - 8:00 Drop Off
8:15 - 9:15 Off Ice Training
9:30 - 10:45 Ice Time
11:00 - 12:00 Recreation
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch (Morning Mites pick up)
1:15 - 1:45 Classroom (Afternoon Mites Drop Off)
2:00 - 3:00 Recreation
3:30 - 4:45 Ice Time
5:00 Pick up
*Each age group will have diffrent schedules
Camp Registration Information:
Squirt, Pee-Wee, and Bantam Plan: $200/ Week-
The fee for the camp is $200 for each squirt, peewee, and bantam child. This fee includes a summer hockey jersey, noon lunch Monday - Friday, and awards. Registration deadline is July 11, a $25 service charge will be withheld on all refunds.
Mites Plan : $125/ Week-
The fee for the camp is $125 for each mite child. This fee includes a summer hockey jersey, and awards. Mites have two plans to choose from. Morning mights 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or afternoon mites 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. There will be no lunch given for either plan. Registration deadline is July 11, a $25 service charge will be withheld on all refunds.
Registration Information:
To enroll, fill out the registration form and return by July 11, 2008.
The full amount must accompany each registration. Refunds will be permitted up to July 11, 2008; however, a $25 service charge will be withheld on all refunds. Notification of acceptance and complete camp information will be sent to you upon receipt of your deposit and registration form.
