Basketball Camps
Girls Basketball Team Camp
Session One: June 29, 2008
Session Two: July 14, 2008
Session Three: July 19-20, 2008
General Information:
This camp will give high school players in grades 8-12 (2008-2009 school year) the opportunity to play as a team in a top tournament atmosphere. St. Cloud State University offers a prime location to run such a tournament. The camp will take place at Halenbeck Hall. Teams are encouraged to bring their high school coach with them. Minnesota State High School League rules now state that teams can be coached by their high school coaches during the summer. An athletic trainer will be available at all times during the tournament.
Session One & Two: Teams will check-in at Halenbeck Hall between 9:45am and 10:45am. There will be a varsity division and a junior varsity division. All teams will be guaranteed three games.
Session Three: Teams will check-in at Halenbeck Hall one hour before their first scheduled game on Saturday. There will be a varsity division and a junior varsity division. Teams will play pool play on Saturday and then be placed into a tournament bracket on Sunday. All teams will play a minimum of five games. Please insure that there is enough players on the team roster as each team may play as many as five games in one day.
Coaching Staff:
The team camp will be directed by SCSU basketball coach Lori Ulferts and assistant basketball coach Carol Thelen.
Dr. Lori Ulferts
Head Coach
A native of Minnesota, Lori is in her 14th season as head coach at St. Cloud State University. Coach Ulferts played high school, college and professional basketball. She has coached at the high school, junior college and collegiate levels. Previously she coached at the University of Minnesota Crookston, and at Moorhead State University. Coach Ulferts has built the St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Program into one of the top North Central Conference teams.
Carol Thelen
Assistant Coach
Carol is in her 2nd season with the Huskies. Prior to SCSU she was the head girls basketball coach at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis since 1999. This past season, she led DeLaSalle to a third place finish in the Class AAA Minnesota Girls State Basketball Tournament. Carol also played three seasons with the Huskies.
Registration Information:
Please register as a team. Individuals registering without a team will not be accepted. There will be no refunds given after the registration deadline. If a team needs to withdraw from competition please call the camps office as soon as possible so schedules can be adjusted. Upon completion of this form a waiver form will be sent out to the team contact that all player’s parents or guardians must sign or the player will not be eligible to participate in the team camp.

Team Fees:
Session Two: $250
Session One and Three: $160
This fee covers the cost of the entire team regardless of the number of players. However, a maximum of twelve individual awards will be given to the first place team. This fee does not include meals or lodging. Lodging and meals are not available on campus. If you need phone numbers for local hotels contact the sports camp office.
