Green Lake Girls Basketball Camp

June 15-20, 2008

General Information:

St. Cloud State University's facilities provide a fantastic opportunity for prospective basketball players to improve their skills, receive evaluations and summer practice routines from our experienced coaching staff of top college and high school coaches.

Who is Eligible?
All girls who were in grades 5 through 11 during the 2007-2008 school year are welcome to attend the Green Lake Basketball Camp. They will be divided into groups based on their age and/or grade during the week.

Instruction Includes:

• Individual instruction

Off Court Activities:

  • Recreational lounge

  • Air-conditioned dining room

  • All you can eat meals

Training Program

You will receive solid fundamental instruction and will play in several competitive leagues. All campers receive the same individual skill instructions and evaluation of skills and suggested practice routines to get ready for the coming basketball season.

Campers will also receive the following:

  • Individual instruction from our diverse staff. We have college, high school, and grade school coaches on our staff to assure proper age grouping and instruction.
  • Each camper receives a personal evaluation record of their skills and suggestions of how to improve.
  • Each camper receives a player manual that includes drills, skills and goal sheets to use all year around.
  • Fundamentals are emphasized throughout the week.
  • Training in citizenship, character, and proper athletic attitude.
  • Athletic trainer on duty 24 hours a day.
  • In addition to the specialized instruction each camper receives a camp T-shirt and certificate.
  • Awards will be given to contest winners.

Coaching Staff:

Dr. Lori Ulferts
Head Coach

A native of Minnesota, Lori is in her 14th season as head coach at St. Cloud State University. Coach Ulferts played high school, college and professional basketball. She has coached at the high school, junior college and collegiate levels. Previously she coached at the University of Minnesota Crookston, and at Moorhead State University. Coach Ulferts has built the St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Program into one of the top North Central Conference teams.

Carol Thelen
Assistant Coach

Carol is in her 2nd season with the Huskies. Prior to SCSU she was the head girls basketball coach at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis since 1999. This past season, she led DeLaSalle to a third place finish in the Class AAA Minnesota Girls State Basketball Tournament. Carol also played three seasons with the Huskies.

Sample Day

The camp begins on Sunday night and ends on Friday at noon. A typical daily schedule is as follows:

Registration Information

A deposit of $100 must accompany each registration. The balance is due upon reporting to camp. Refunds will be permitted up to May 23, 2008; however, a $25 service charge will be withheld on all refunds. Notification of acceptance and complete camp information will be sent to you upon receipt of your deposit and registration form.

Resident Plan - $335
Includes Sunday night through Thursday night lodging, and all meals from Monday breakfast through Friday breakfast. Camp concludes at noon on Friday.

Day Plan - $245
For those not needing resident hall lodging, this rate includes lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday.
