Basketball Camps
Summer Basketball Competition
Girls: Begins June 2, 2008 and runs approximately six weeks.
Boys: Begins June 3, 2008 and runs approximately six weeks.
General Information:
St. Cloud State University will again be conducting a summer basketball competition for high school age girls and boys. Boys and girls in grades 8 through 11 during the 2007-2008 school year are eligible to participate. Our first objective remains to provide fast-paced, fundamental basketball at a reasonable price. All participants will play against the top area athletes. Teams will be placed into divisions according to their grade. All games will be held at Halenbeck Hall.
Competition
The competition will begin June 2nd for girls and June 3rd for boys and run for roughly six weeks. Each participant will be placed on a team and the team will be scheduled to play one game per night, two nights a week. Players must send their information in as a team. A tournament will be held for qualifying teams after the ten game league schedule.
Tentative Schedule
Boys: 5 on 5
Grades 8 - 9, Tuesday & Wednesday 5:15 pm
Grades 10 - 11, Tuesday & Wednesday 6:00 or 6:45 pm
Girls: 5 on 5
Grades 8 - 9, Monday & Thursday 5:15 pm
Grades 10 - 11, Monday & Thursday 6:00 or 6:45 pm
Coaching Staff:
Kevin Schlagel and Matt Reimer, SCSU men's basketball head coach and assistant coach, will direct the boys basketball competition. Lori Ulferts and Carol Thelen, SCSU women's basketball head coach and assistant coach, will direct the girls basketball competition. All games will have an athletic trainer on hand and will be officiated by qualified staff.
Registration Information:
Registration Fee: $70.00. A $10 service charge will be withheld on all refunds.
Enrollment
To register, complete and return the attached registration form along with the $70.00 fee by April 25, 2008. The fee includes a T-shirt and a minimum of ten officiated games. Please register as a team, individuals registering separately can not be guaranteed to be placed on the team they requested.
