Green Lake Boys Basketball Camp

June 8-13, 2008

General Information:

St. Cloud State University's facilities provide an outstanding opportunity for prospective basketball players to improve their skills, receive skill evaluations and summer practice routines from our experienced coaching staff.

Who is Eligible?
All boys who were in the 5th through 10th grade during the 2007-2008 school year can attend the Green Lake Basketball Camp.

Training Program

  • Each camper receives a personal, written evaluation record of their skills and suggested practice routines for improved play.
  • Over 20 of the top college, high school, and grade school coaches in the upper Midwest are on our staff.
  • College players serve as counselors.
  • Play in several competitive leagues and tournaments.
  • Fundamentals are emphasized in daily scheduling.
  • Training in good citizenship, character, and proper athletic attitude.
  • An athletic trainer is on duty on duty 24 hours a day.

Prizes & Awards
Every camper receives a camp T-shirt, certificate and players manual. Contest winners receive prizes such as shirts, medals, ribbons and basketballs.

Coaching Staff:

Matt Reimer- Assistant Coach

Matt is in his 10th season as a full-time assistant coach. Reimer served two seasons as a graduate assistant before becoming a full-time assistant. Prior to SCSU, Matt served as an assistant coach at New London-Spicer High School for four seasons. He graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he played basketball for two years. Matt is a native of Elkader, Iowa.

Cory Schlagel- Assistant Coach

Cory is in his 4th season as an assistant coach with the Huskies. Cory served as a graduate assistant coach his first two seasons. Before SCSU Cory taught mathematics at Rush City High School, where he was also the assistant girls basketball coach and assistant baseball coach. He is currently a teacher in the Albany school district.

Sample Day:

The camp begins on Sunday night and ends on Friday at noon. A typical daily schedule is as follows:

7:15 - Rise and Shine
8:00 - Breakfast
9:00 - Warm up drill
9:15 - Pre-practice drills
9:30 - Fundamentals and 3 on 3 League
12:15 - Lunch
1:30 - Fast break - Fundamental Stations - Team play
4:00 - Contests
5:30 - Dinner
6:45 - League Games
9:15 - Movies
11:00 - Lights out

Registration Information

Space is limited in each session so register early to save a spot. A deposit of $100 must accompany each registration. The balance is due upon reporting to camp. Refunds will be permitted up to May 23, 2008; however, a $25 service charge will be withheld on all refunds. Notification of acceptance and complete camp information will be sent to you upon receipt of your deposit and registration form.

Resident Plan - $335
Includes Sunday night through Thursday night lodging, and all meals from Monday breakfast through Friday breakfast. Camp concludes at noon on Friday.

Day Plan - $245
This plan is for those not needing resident hall lodging, this rate includes lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday.
