Learn to Kayak, Canoe or Stand Up Paddleboard!

SCSU Outdoor Endeavors is an American Canoe Association (ACA) Paddle America Club and offers the areas only ACA instructional programs.  If you have ever wanted to learn the ins & outs, literally, of kayaking consider signing up for one of our instructional programs.  It is a great time to play in the pool, learn a new skill and meet other people that are passionate about paddlesports.

QuickStart Your Kayak is a brief, two-hour introduction to paddling a kayak. Students are presented with basic information on dressing to paddle safely, potential hazards and simple rescues. A minimal paddle skill set is presented and practiced, allowing students to safely and comfortably maneuver on still water. All equipment is provided.

Cost: $25 per person

QuickStart Your Canoe is a brief, two-hour introduction to paddling a canoe. Students are presented with basic information on boat control, paddling apparel, potential hazards and simple rescues. An entry level of paddling skills is presented and practiced, allowing students to safely and effectively maneuver on flat-water. All equipment is provided.

Quickstart Your SUP is and introduction into the world of the stand up paddleboards (SUP). Imagine connecting surfing, canoeing & kayaking all together? We provide a great introduction into one this fast growing sport. Stability, technique and safety are all covered in this two hour workshop. All equipment is provided.

Cost: $25 per person, 
8 participants maximum

Pre-registration is required!  You can register at SCSU Outdoor Endeavors, Lake George Boathouse or at Campus Rec Guest Services.  Outdoor Endeavors provides all the equipment, instructors and fun!  More details about all the instructional paddling programs we offer can be found by contacting us at the number or email below!
