Every effort is made to provide safe & well maintained equipment. By renting equipment from Outdoor Endeavors and signing this contract you have a personal responsibility to know how to properly & safely use the equipment. Outdoor Endeavors will provide functional gear in good repair but it is ultimately up to you where your knowledge and skill level stands with regards to its use.
Know Your Limits!
The student staff at Outdoor Endeavors will go out of their way to help you get familiar with the gear you are renting, teach you how to transport a canoe or kayak and offer local information on risks and hazards. Once you leave, we cannot be responsible for bad decisions or damage you cause to gear. You need to make sure you pay attention, understand and not act outside of what your skill level is. Damage to equipment is expensive and limits access to the next customer looking for gear.
This canoe was wrapped on tree limb submerged on the Mississippi River. The canoe was repairable, but will never paddle as it would have in its original form. The customer was charged for nearly the entire price of the what the canoe would have cost new due to the extent of damage. Know your limits & ability level!
Equipment is not considered “reserved” until full payment is received. Outdoor Endeavors reserves the right to rent equipment on a first come first serve basis. Generally most equipment is available in sufficient quantities but it cannot be guaranteed. Equipment is rented on a daily (up to 24 hours), weekend (48-72 hours depending on season) and weekly (7 days) timeframe. The minimum rental period is daily (24 hours). If a longer rental is required it will be at the block rate plus the number of days beyond that block rate.
We are able to take check, cash or credit card payments. All transactions originate at Outdoor Endeavors with payment occurring at Campus Recreation Guest Services. Please note there is MN sales tax on all rentals.
Deposits are required for certain items that require extra care or are particularly high maintenance. The return of your deposit is at the sole discretion of Outdoor Endeavors at the time the equipment is returned. If equipment is broken or damaged due to improper use or carelessness the deposit will be withheld. Dirty or wet gear is subject to a $35 charge. Deposits in the form of cash, check, or credit card are accepted.
