Outdoor Endeavors has created a unique partnership with the City of St. Cloud, St. Cloud Parks Department and the St. Cloud Rotary Club to establish Lake George as a centerpoint of community outdoor recreation activity. The result of this relationship is Outdoor Endeavors operating boat rentals and instructional programs at Lake George during the summer season. The community will now have the opportunity to rent paddle boats, canoes and fishing equipment. Additionally, Outdoor Endeavors will be bringing a multitude of canoeing and kayaking programs to the lake as part of the SCSU Center for Paddlesports Instruction, Education and Safety.

Paddleboat, Canoe & Stand Up Paddleboard Rental Rates

• 1 hour for $8
• 1/2 hour for $6
  
  **Parent or legal guardian must sign for those under 18. No one under 18 allowed in boats without supervision.
  ***Renters are required to leave a drivers license or credit card when renting watercraft which will be returned when payment is received and equipment is returned.

Lake George Boathouse Season Pass Program

SCSU Outdoor Endeavors has a partnership with the City of St. Cloud & St. Cloud Rotary to operate the Lake George Boathouse at Eastman Park in downtown St. Cloud.  We provide paddleboat, canoe & stand up paddleboard rentals from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  The program has been an outstanding success the last three years and has provided a service that would have otherwise been eliminated.  It has created new jobs & leadership opportunities for our student employees, provided a venue for instructional kayaking & canoe programs along with enhancing recreation opportunities for our community.  It has been a very innovative and rewarding process that we are grateful for and the leadership we have been charged with.

This year we are offering a great opportunity to support the program through the sale of Lake George Boathouse Season Passes. At $25 per season pass, it is a value and would make a great gift for someone who has enjoyed seeing all the hard work that has gone into the restoration of Lake George & Eastman Park.

The season pass is $25 and can be purchased at SCSU Outdoor Endeavors, located in the Student Recreation Center across from the climbing wall.  The pass is valid for the passholder and one guest during open hours and includes use of paddleboats, canoes & stand up paddleboards.  Passes are not transferable.

Instructional Canoe & Kayak Programs

We offer a variety of paddlesports instructional programs from those with no experience to those with solid base skills. As an American Canoe Association affiliated paddle club, we place a high value on curriculum, skill development and effective student learning.

Weather Policy

SCSU Outdoor Endeavors reserves the right to alter hours of operation based on weather conditions. If weather conditions are unsafe, the opening or closing may be delayed or cancelled. This policy is intended to protect our staff and patrons. Call 320-333-3745 for updated hours.

Inherent Risks

The use of paddleboats, canoes and stand up paddleboards have inherent risks. Some of those risks include drowning, personal injury, injury related to environmental conditions and injuries from human factors. It is the responsibility of the renter to acknowledge and understand these risks. Wearing a properly fitted life jacket is mandatory on all watercraft at the Lake George Boathouse.
