Mississippi River Clean Up Project

Outdoor Endeavors believes that without a healthy environment and resources, our program could not exist. Since 2006, we have been tireless advocates for stewardship of OUR river and have taken action through our river clean up and education efforts. We host two annual events that focus on the West bank of the Mississippi River from the Newman Center downstream to the St. Cloud Dam. These efforts have made dramatic improvements in reducing the amount of litter and garbage in this section. We are also committed to other local clean up efforts and provide support through use of canoes and volunteers when possible. All clean up efforts are registered through the Minnesota DNR Adopt A River Program and with National River Clean Up Week.

National River Cleanup Week traditionally occurs during the second or third week of May each year. It was originally conceived in 1991 by America Outdoors® in response to a recognition that America's streams and rivers were in need of cleaning due to the careless disposal of trash and other debris. Join the SCSU & St. Cloud Community in helping our great river.  This event is free! Lunch, gloves, and garbage bags will be provided by Outdoor Endeavors.  This event is picking up where our Fall Clean Up left off!  Call 320-308-3772 to get on the registration list!
