Chris Haukos, Fitness Coordinator & Special Events Director

Hi! My name is Chris Haukos & I am the Coordinator of Fitness & Special Programs here at SCSU. I received my Masters Degree in Exercise Science from SCSU & have been working here since 1996. This session I teach Core Strength & Butts n’ Guts. On campus, you may also find me involved in, & coordinating, the RecKids programs & other special events. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband Brad Pickle (Special Events Director) & raising my three sons.

Why Group Fitness is important to you: I love being a group fitness instructor because I am passionate about healthy lifestyles and being able to motivate others to reach personal goals. I like to push my participants to the max while having fun in a positive high energy environment.

Beth Berila

Beth Berila, Ph.D., is a registered Yoga teacher and the Director and Associate Professor
of the Women's Studies Program. Her work focuses on Gender and the Body, Popular Culture, and Feminist Pedagogy. She has practiced yoga and meditation for years and recently completed the 200-hour Teacher Training Program with Senior Anusara®Practitioners, Martin and Jordan Kirk.

Why Group Fitness is important to you: Group Fitness is important to me because it's
a fun and motivating atmosphere. It's a great way to keep healthy and encourages you to
work hard, while also having fun. It's my one time of the day where stressful school work
and obligations are put to the side, and the focus is on our participants and each other
to ensure we have a fun and safe workout.
