Incentive Program

Let us help you start the road to a healthy lifestyle. Campus Recreation offers an incentive program each semester for students, faculty, and staff. The program encourages participants to exercise and eat healthy by setting goals and working together to achieve those goals. It's a fun way to get a little competition into your work out. Every workout, such as doing an elliptical or riding a bike, is assigned a mile value. You can participate as an individual or with a partner. At the same time you are competing against all other participants in the program. Prizes for achieving your goals are distributed throughout the program.

Form a new habit by attending 21 Group Fitness classes. Sign up today to be eligible for many great prizes!!!

Dates: March 17-May 4
Fees:
Students: 7-week group fitness pass - $15.00     
Faculty/Staff: 7-week pass - $30.00

Directions:
1. Attend 21 Group Fitness Classes.
2. Have instructor sign your Incentive Card after each class.

* Drawing will be held after the last class.
* Only ONE card per participant.

scsu on the move-"Mile high challenge"

Presented by Bursch Travel

Dedicate yourself to 11 weeks and you could win airline tickets for two!

Who: All SCSU faculty, staff, students and spouses are welcome to join.  You can do it by yourself or grab a partner for a 2-person team
Program Length: February 11-May 1(5k race held on May 1)
Goal: Log weekly miles exercised and complete weekly challenges
Why: Why wouldn’t you! Win 2 round trip tickets to Denver. Win great prizes for working out and get in shape to run or walk the SCSU on the Move 5k!
What:  St. Cloud State University’s 2008 Spring On the Move Incentive Program.

  • Simply complete the weekly challenges and log your mile each day.
  •  Each Monday you will e-mail your total miles and if you completed any of the challenges to be entered to win Weekly prizes.
  • Email your info to incentive@stcloudstate.edu .
  • Weekly Prizes will be distributed each Wednesday

Challenges:

Weekly Challenges (PDF)

  • We give you 5 challenges a week, you complete 3 or more challenges for 30+ minutes you earn a raffle ticket and the ticket is put into a drawing for the weekly prizes.
  • You notify me by emailing the challenges you competed, I write your name on the back of a raffle ticket and at the end of each week, I will draw a winner for a PRIZE!
  • If you attend the EVENT for that week, you will earn TWO raffle tickets, which doubles your chances of winning a prize that week.

**The more challenges you complete each week the more times your name goes into the PRIZE drawing, increasing you chances to WIN!!!!

Mile High Challenge: Climbing Wall Competition

  • Located: SCSU Campus Recreation Rock Climbing Wall
  • You do not have to be signed up for the incentive program to participate in the climbing wall challenge
  • Fee: Free to all Students Faculty and Staff with a Level II membership or $6 for a day pass.
  • Time: Sun-Fri (Closed Thursday): 6-9pm, Saturdays 12-3pm
  • Details: All equipment will be provided so all you need to bring is yourself.
  •   At the climbing wall there will be a sign in sheet or poster that you or you and your partner will sign up and each week tally how far you’ve climbed.
  • To make one mile you need to climb 5,280ft. you have 11 weeks to complete this challenge. The wall is 30ft high. You must make it all the way up and touch the belay bar for it to count for the total 30 ft.
  • First person to make the mile will receive a PRIZE!

Swim Challenge: 
This challenge if for all of you who just want to swim! 

  • Log weekly swim progress in the HAH or Eastman pool
  • The first individual to swim to Monticello (26 miles) will receive a prize.

Aqua Fit:

  • Join our group fitness 7 week program and try our new class Aqua Fit. Every Wednesday from 5-6pm and Fridays from 12-1pm at the Eastman pool.
  • Log 3 miles for attending this class!!
  • If you are a part of the Incentive Program there will be a sign up sheet at Aqua Fit that you will sign in to clarify you attended !

Group Challenge:  Let’s make it 10,000 miles:

  • Starting from Saint Cloud MN I want to see how far we go as a group across that states.
  • Each week I will put the total miles in from everyone and I will calculate how far we make it out of state and into another. It’s only 3,967 miles to Hawaii or maybe 9,574 miles to Australia, another country!
  • It’s up to you on how far we make it!


Special Event: All incentive participants will receive a free entry to the Thursday, May 1 SCSU on the move 5k race.

Program phases:

  • Phase 1: Complete weeks 1-5 and receive SCSU Nalgene bottle
  • Phase 2: Complete the entire program (weeks 1-9) and you will receive a Free SCSU On The Move T-Shirt!!

Grand Prize: Airline tickets to Denver for two! Drawing of the top 10 individuals who have completed the most challenges and total miles.
At the end of the program all participants’ challenges and total overall miles will be calculated.

  • 1st Place: Person with the combination of the most completed challenges and miles will receive a prize.
  • 1st Place Team: Team with the combination of the most completed challenges and miles.
  • 2nd Place: Person with the most miles completed.
  • 2nd Place Team: Team with the most miles completed

When: February 11- April 28. All prizes will be announced during the May 1st SCSU On the Move 5k

  • The week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.
  • Email in you records on Mondays for them to be counted for the weekly drawing.
  • Late submission of records will not be accepted but will be put toward your total points for the grand prize at the end of the program.

Entry Fee:
$10.00

What you Get: The first 100 to register will receive an SCSU workout bag, Coupons, log book, free speaker series, free fitness classes, weekly prizes, entry into the 5k race, Free Water bottle or sport towel after completing the first 4 weeks and Free T-Shirt upon completion of all 9 weeks.

  • ***When totaling your weekly miles please convert all activities to be e-mailed. Example: If you bike 12 miles please write 4 miles on your log sheet that will be e-mailed to campus recreation.

  • Aqua class......................................................3 miles
  • 50 minute group fitness class....................2 miles
  • 50 minute power pacing class...................4 miles
  • 30 minute power pacing class...................2 miles
  • 3 miles roller blade.......................................1 mile
  • 1 mile walk......................................................1 mile
  • 1 mile run........................................................1 mile
  • 1 mile CC ski or skate ski............................1 mile             
  • **2500 steps...................................................1 mile
  • 1 mile swim.....................................................1 mile
  • **Reminder that this is not a step challenge. 
  • To be consistent and fair, we are asking that you only count your workout miles and not the total steps taken for the day.
