ING Direct 5k Run/Walk

What would the Earth Day Weekend be without the proper kickoff race? A Friday night tradition, the 5K starts and finishes at the campus of SCSU and gives runners and walkers alike the chance to strut their stuff.  Some use it as a warm-up for Saturday’s race, and for others, it is THE race that gets them back into the swing of Spring! 

2012 marks the first year on a new course for the 5K. The course will start near Husky Stadium and will be a true road race! The course will take runners through St. Cloud State University before leading them to beautiful Lake George. The St. Cloud Police help control traffic at busy intersections as runners cross 9th Avenue to get to Lake George. The runners will then have a sprint to the finish which will be in Husky Stadium. This promises to be a great race and will highlight great areas of St. Cloud.

Runners will receive a long sleeve t-shirt and finisher cinch bag from Asics.

Runners: Please be prepared to stop on 9th Avenue in the case of emergency vehicles. We will have the St. Cloud Police Department controlling traffic at intersections to ensure the safety of participants but in the event of an emergency we will need to let vehicles through.
