Technicians provide assistance with sound, light and other audio-visual needs for groups using the SCSU facilities. Technicians should have the expertise to problem-solve when the need arises. Strong customer service and organizational skills are necessary at all times in dealing with the needs of performers and meeting planners.
The building assistant maintains a neat, clean and functional atmosphere in Atwood. Responsibilities include but are not limited to vacuuming, sweeping floors, washing windows, emptying trash, setting up tables and chairs, stocking restrooms, wiping counters and wet mopping floors.
The building manager reports to the associate director for the supervision of evening and weekend operations of Atwood Memorial Center. A building manager’s duties include, but are not limited to: direct supervision of all student employee staff on duty, administration representative to building clients and meeting room users, cash accounting, liaison with maintenance staff, and building security.
This graduate assistant position is involved with developing and implementing strategies for marketing Atwood Memorial Center; designing posters, flyers, brochures, banners and ad layouts; and managing the design and advertising of The Link-the academic planner for the university community. Manage and supervise Copies Plus designers.
The operations graduate assistant is responsible for the selection, training and supervision of The Underground student desk workers and supervisors. This position ensures that leagues, tournaments and other promotional and special events are planned, marketed and evaluated; and assists with other special projects in conjunction with the assistant director.
The Service Center in Atwood encompasses the operations for Copies Plus, the Atwood Information Desk, a design center, vehicle rentals, and accounting needs.
Manager
The Copies Plus manager is responsible for working with the supervisor to train new student workers in using the machines for production services, opening and closing procedures, customer service policies, correct pricing methods, etc. They are also responsible for project flow and inventory.
Designer
The Copies Plus designer uses desktop publishing and other specialized computer software to design, layout and prepare a variety of text, illustrative and graphic materials. The Copies Plus Designer has experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat; and technical knowledge of Macintosh computers.
Customer Service Representative
Customer service representatives assist with customer needs in both the Atwood Information Desk and Copies Plus. Representatives are responsible for all transactions between the two areas.
Office assistants provide customer service to campus and external clients and office support to six full-time staff for the Atwood Administration Office.
Desk attendants are responsible for all transactions in The Underground and basic maintenance of the underground.
