Information Desk and Copies Plus Attendant

DEADLINE: Tuesday December 4th, 2012 4:00 p.m.

Supervisor:         Manager, Information Desk/Copies Plus

Pay Rate:            $8.00/hour during training/probationary period

                              $8.20/hour after training


Hours:                  10-15 hours per week

Building Assistant Commitment: Required to work a total of 80 hours in the Building Assistant Program

Position Summary: The Information Desk and Copies Plus Attendant provides accurate information to the campus community and the public at large. This position must provide excellent customer service to complete client’s copying and printing needs. This position also sells balloons, popcorn, stamps, and tickets for SCSU events and services.  Position responsibilities include:

Copies Plus

Work with fellow employees to take and process orders efficiently and quickly.

•             Fill out order forms with great detail.

•             Operate cash register.

•             Create and distribute class notes.

•             Operate copiers, laminator, poster duplicator, cutters, fax machine and folding machine.

•             Other duties as assigned

Information Desk

•             Cash handling Assist customers with a pleasant and helpful attitude when giving information or selling products.

•             In the event of an emergency you are responsible for following procedures and contacting either Atwood Administration or a Building Manager.

•             Log items into Lost and Found and help customers claim their lost items.

•             Popcorn: Make, sell and clean the popcorn machine.

•             Ticketing: Using the online ticket site for various events on campus.

•             Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Minimum of one year commitment
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of St. Cloud State, its programs, and its services
  • Previous experience operating small machinery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
