Job Title:         Building Assistant

Work Area:     Conferences and Scheduling Office

Supervisor:     Director of Conferences and Scheduling; Training and work schedule coordinated  by Operations Graduate Assistant

Pay Rate:        $8.00/hour during training/probationary period

                        $8.20/hour after training

Hours:             8-15 hours per week

Position Summary:  The Building Assistant completes general maintenance tasks, room setups, and other cleaning tasks to help staff maintain a level of cleanliness and order in Atwood Memorial Center.  Tasks commonly completed by the Building Assistant include setting up tables and chairs, vacuuming and sweeping floors, emptying trash, stocking supplies and wiping counters in restrooms, washing windows, and dusting.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Vacuuming and sweeping floors
  • Washing windows
  • Emptying trash
  • Setting up tables and chairs
  • Stocking restrooms and wiping counters
  • Wet mopping floors
  • Dusting
  • Working with general maintenance workers, building staff, and student managers to complete tasks as a team
  • Directing building guests to rooms and locations in the building
  • Other operational duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Minimum of one year commitment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with building maintenance tasks
  • Previous customer service experience
