Job Title: Audio Visual Technician

Work Area: Atwood Memorial Center, Ritsche Auditorium

Supervisor: Atwood Technology Coordinator

Pay Rate: $8.00 per hour during training / probationary period

$8.80 per hour after training

Hours: 15 – 20 hours per week

Building Assistant Commitment: Required to work a total of 15 hours in the Building Assistant Program

Position Summary: Technicians provide assistance with sound, light and other audio-visual needs for groups using SCSU facilities. Technicians should have the expertise to problem-solve when the need arises. Strong customer service and organizational skills are necessary at all times in dealing with the needs of performers and meeting planners.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Technicians will be trained in the following areas:

Microphones
Touch panels, projectors, a/v equipment
Sound systems
Set stage lighting; arrange, focus and change color gels
Portable sound systems
Sound/light duties in the Quarry

The following facilities are used:

Atwood Memorial Center (including the Quarry)
Ritsche Auditorium
Other campus areas

Required Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.0
Minimum of one year commitment
Experience in sound or theatrical lighting
Good communication/customer service skills
Flexible schedule – evenings and weekends
Must attend weekly meetings and training sessions
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of St. Cloud State, its programs and its services
