JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:        Service Center Student Manager

Work Area:    Service Center

Supervisor:     Manager, Information Desk/Copies Plus

Pay Rate:       $8.00 per hour during training/probationary period

$9.10 per hour after training

Hours: 15-20 hours a week

Building Assistant Commitment:  Required to work a total of 15 hours in the Building Assistant Program

Position Summary:  The Service Center Manager provides leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Service Center- Copies Plus and the Atwood Information Desk.  The Student Manager trains student employees on all aspects of the Service Center, plans and executes marketing activities, responds and resolves customer concerns, and oversees operational components including inventory, Atwood vehicles, policies, event ticketing, cleaning, and employee scheduling.

Position Responsibilities Include: 

  • Possessing a thorough knowledge of the services offered at AMC Service Center. Including Copies Plus, the Information Desk, Atwood vehicles, design center, event tickets, postal services
  • Train new employees in opening and closing procedures, correct pricing methods for copy orders, customer service policies, and organizational skills in the Service Center area.
  • Updating procedure manuals, and devise and implement new procedures when necessary
  • Monitoring student employee schedules and attendance.
  • Assisting Supervisor with the student employee evaluation process.
  • Training all student workers in production services.
  • Marketing the products and services of the Service Center

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.25
  • Minimum of one year commitment
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Management and marketing experience
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management and/or supervisory experience
  • Cash handling skills
  • Previous experience in a customer-service related field
  • Knowledge of St. Cloud State, its programs, and its services
