PromoTV
Style Guide and Policies
"PromoTV" is a service provided to campus organizations and
departments by Admissions, Athletics, Atwood, Campus Recreation and Residential
Life. It was created to promote upcoming events and to get our critical
information to the SCSU community. The four sponsoring departments
will also use the system for internal messages in their own facilities.
All five departments will often accept other messages from the campus
community based on the policies below. Due to space limitations,
all five departments reserve the right to prioritize messages and limit
submittals from campus departments and organizations.
Policies for Campus Submittals
- Sponsoring organization should be listed on any message that may
generate questions.
- To reduce message quantity to a manageable number, messages will only be run for 7 days. PromoTV managers in
each building will make exceptions for special events.
- Messages will be limited to SCSU departments and organizations or
an outside organization that is sponsoring their event on campus.
- Messages that promote events at bars or promote alcoholic beverages
will not be allowed.
- Advertised events must be open to all the SCSU community.
- Due to space limitations, messages promoting weekly or monthly meetings
will be a low priority and will generally not be displayed.
Suggested Style Guide
- No more than 15 words (more words makes the fonts too small)
- Abbreviate days of week and months (example: Fri., Sept. 12)
- Time format: 7 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. (no zeroes on the hour, space
after number, use periods with a.m./p.m.)
