Duluth, Minn. - Duluth, Minn. - The St. Cloud State men's hockey team (6-3-3, 4-3-3 WCHA) pushed its undefeated string to seven games with a 4-2 win over Minnesota Duluth (3-7-3, 1-7-2 WCHA) on Saturday, Nov. 25, at the DECC in Duluth.

The Huskies gained a 1-0 lead in the game as junior forward Dan Kronick (Inver Grove Heights) notched the first goal of the night for the second consecutive evening at UMD.

Kronick tallied his fourth goal of the season at 4:22 of the second period with assists from freshman forward Ryan Lasch (Lake Forest, Calif.) and senior forward Nate Raduns (Sauk Rapids).  A transfer from UMD two seasons ago, Kronick has played tough against his former teammate with six goals and four assists in five games.

The line of Lasch, Raduns and Kronick pushed the score to 2-0 at 7:14 of the second period, as Lasch scored his sixth goal of the season.  He was assisted on the play by Kronick and Raduns.

Minnesota Duluth broke the weekend shutout effort by senior netminder Bobby Goepfert (Kings Park, N.Y.) with an unassisted goal at 10:31 of the second period by Mitch Ryan.

In the third period, the Huskies padded their lead in the contest to 3-1 with a power play goal by team scoring leader freshman forward Andreas Nodl (Vienna, Austria).  He notched his seventh goal of the season and 18th point at 8:52 with power play assists from senior defender Justin Fletcher (Maryville, Ill.) and junior team assist leader Nate Dey (Maplewood).  Dey has a team leading 12 dishes this season for the Huskies.

UMD charged back with a goal at 11:36 of the third period by Jeff McFarland to make it 3-2.  SCSU iced the game with another empty net goal at 19:56.  This time Lasch charted the goal with an assist from Kronick.

In the game, SCSU was outshot by the Bulldogs 35-33.  On the power play, SCSU was 1-of-5 and the Bulldogs were held scoreless on the power play for the second consecutive evening - going 0-of-4.

The Huskies will continue their WCHA season on Dec. 1-2, with a pair of games at Michigan Tech in Houghton, Michigan. The games can be heard live on KCML FM 99.9  (www.lite999.com).
