WRESTLING: Annual Golf Outing Another Success!

The St.Cloud State University Wrestling team hosted its annual Husky Golf Classic on Friday, August 28, 2009.
The annual best ball golf tournament serves as one of the main fundraisers for the Husky Wrestling program.
“This year’s tournament was outstanding, we had great weather which helped contribute to our outstanding participation!” SCSU coach Steve Costanzo said.
A total of 10 teams competed, and they were made up of former Husky wrestlers, boosters and friends and family of SCSU wrestling. The winner of this year’s tournament was a familiar face - Greg Ganyo, a former SCSU wrestler led his team to his 3rd straight championship. Joining Ganyo on the winning team was Sam Martin, Carl Olson, and Jim Harstad.
Sam Martin a close friend of Coach Costanzo traveled all the way from Missouri to take part in the tournament. The day also featured a raffle drawing, silent auction, dinner and speeches by Coach Costanzo, Grant Nelson (President of the Husky Takedown Club) and Jim Harstad (alumni and Takedown Club board member).
“We are extremely grateful for the outstanding support we received today...everybody that attended today has a special place in the SCSU wrestling family,” said Coach Costanzo.
