The Taylor Beebe Story
2009 Season: Posted a career-high 13 kills against Missouri S&T on Sept. 4…tallied double figure marks in kills five total times in 2009…played in 21 matches for the Huskies in her first collegiate season…garnered first collegiate kill at Northern Michigan on Aug. 28…also collected first career serving ace, first career dig and first career block in the match at Northern Michigan…amassed a career-best three serving aces at Northern Michigan on Aug. 28…four times this season led the Huskies with five total blocks in a match…was fifth on the squad with 131 kills and third on the team with 54 total blocks (6s, 48a)…totaled 14 digs defensively for the Huskies…hit a career-best .733 against Lake Superior State on Aug. 29, totaling 11 kills with no errors in the contest.
Before SCSU: A 6-1 middle hitter, Beebe earned three varsity letters from Memorial High School…coached by Joe Frontier, Beebe captained her 2008 prep squad that won the Big 8 Conference Tournament Championship, starting in all 99 sets played…she led her team with 423 kills (4.23 kps), 99 aces (1.00 aps) and 73 total blocks, including 47 solo blocks…for her efforts, Beebe garnered 2008 First Team All-City (Madison) accolades, First Team All-Big 8 Conference honors, 2008 Wisconsin All-State Honorable Mention status and was voted her team’s Most Valuable Player…the school record holder in match aces (9) and match kills (28), Beebe was also her high school team’s 2006 MVP and was named to the All-City Honorable Mention team in 2007…after three years of varsity volleyball action, Beebe leaves Memorial High ranked second all-time in kills (812) and serving aces (163), and third in total blocks (148).
Personal: A native of Verona, Wis., and the daughter of Bill Beebe and Gina Beebe…plans to pursue a degree in marketing at St. Cloud State University…she is currently a volunteer with the Madison Area Special Olympics and a member of Future Business Leaders of America.
