THIS WEEK’S MATCHES: St. Cloud State will return home on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31, for league matches against No. 18-ranked Wayne State College (Neb.) on Oct. 30 (7 pm) and Augustana College on Oct. 31 (4 pm). Both matches will be played in SCSU’s Halenbeck Hall.

THE RECORD: St. Cloud State is 6-20 overall and 2-12 in the NSIC after dropping matches to U-Mary on Oct. 23 and to Northern State on Oct. 24. To view complete statistics from the 2009 season, click here.

Series: The all-time series between WSC and SCSU is knotted up at 2-2, dating back to 1992.

EARLIER THIS SEASON AGAINST THE WILDCATS: The Huskies lost in three straight sets to Wayne State (Neb.) earlier this season on Sept. 5, all in part of the Husky Volleyball Tournament held at Halenbeck Hall. EARLIER THIS SEASON AT AUGIE: St. Cloud State travelled to Augustana on Sept. 29 and dropped the heart-break match in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-23 and 25-23. To view that match box score, click here.

STREAK SNAPPED: The Huskies gained their first set victory since Sept. 26 with a 25-18 set win over Northern State on Oct. 24, snapping a 21-set slide.

NAGLE COLLECTS CAREER MARK: SCSU’s Chelsea Nagle (Preston) was assigned a new responsibility against Northern State on Saturday, Oct. 24, as she suited up as the libero for the first time this season. The sophomore posted a career-high 29 digs in the loss and also added one set assist in the contest. On the weekend, Nagle led the Huskies with 38 digs, averaging 5.43 digs per set.

HUSKY MAINSTAY: Kayla Tschida has been a mainstay for the Huskies all season from the middle and led SCSU with 27 kills (.276), 17 digs and eight total blocks (3s, 5a) in seven sets played this past weekend at U-Mary and Northern State.

DIG PINK: Volleyball fans…the St. Cloud State volleyball team is asking fans, family and friends to rally together to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. At all the home matches in October (Oct. 9, 10, 30, 31), Husky volleyball will be selling DIG PINK T-SHIRTS at the doors for $10 and will also be taking pledges to KILL CANCER. Individuals can pledge as much as they desire for each kill the Huskies have during that match. For complete information, click here.
