St. Cloud, Minn. -- Volleyball fans, the 2009 St. Cloud State volleyball team will head to Kenosha, Wis., on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12, for the Wisconsin-Parkside Tournament.
Husky Weekly Notes
- St. Cloud State hosted its first tournament since 2001 on Sept. 4-5, and went 1-3 overall in Halenbeck Hall. The Huskies lone win of the tourney came against Missouri S&T in a 3-2 thrilling victory on Sept. 4.
- The Huskies are 2-6 overall in 2009.
- Junior middle hitter Kayla Tschida (Holdingford) landed herself on the 2009 St. Cloud State All-Tournament team after leading the Huskies with 50 kills, a .393 hitting percentage and 17 total blocks (5s, 12a).
- Taylor Beebe (Verona, Wis.), SCSU’s first year middle hitter, also had a stellar weekend at the SCSU Tourney, charting 41 kills (.329) and a team second-best 15 total kills (3s, 12a).
- Defensively, the Huskies were led by first year libero Sarah Madden (Van Meter, Iowa), who posted 63 digs (3.94 dps) and seven serving aces in the tourney, including three serving aces in SCSU’s win over Missouri S&T.
- St. Cloud State heads to Kenosha, Wis., on Sept. 11-12 for the Wisconsin-Parkside Tournament. First up for the Huskies will be tournament host Wisconsin-Parkside at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. SCSU will also face the University of Indianapolis (Friday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m.), Quincy University (Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10:00 a.m.) and St. Joseph's College (Saturday, Sept. 12, at 3:00 p.m.) during the two-day tournament.
