The Katie Kimman Story
2008 Season: Saw her first college action against Missouri S&T on Aug.29, picking up her first kill and dig in the match…gained first career assist against Southwestern Oklahoma on Aug. 30…blasted a season-high 12 kills at Upper Iowa on Sept. 20…recorded three blocks against Alaska, Fairbanks on Sept. 6 (0s/3a) and against Winona State (0s/3a) on Sept. 16…had at least one block in 10 straight matches before a season-ending injury…recorded first service ace at Winona State on Sept. 19…posted season-high mark in digs with seven against #23 Ashland on Sept. 5.
Before SCSU: Four-year letter winner in volleyball…named All-State her senior season…was a First Team All-Conference pick in 2007 and 2006 while earning Second Team honors in 2005…named captain and Team MVP for Pierz in 2007 and 2006…set Pierz’s career kill record with 948…finished her career with 130 aces, 554 digs, 76 solo blocks, 124 block assists and a 3.27 kills per game average…also earned three letters in basketball, earning a honorable mention to the All-State Team in 2007 to go along with All-Conference and Team MVP recognition…was a member of the National Honor Society and three-time All-Conference Academic award winner.
Personal: Lists sister Cindy Pohlkamp as having the greatest influence on her career…enjoys spending time with family and watching movies in her spare time…favorite sports figure is Kevin Garnett… daughter of Clint and Jan Kimman…a 2008 graduate of Pierz H.S…plans to major in special education at SCSU.
