The Brittany Novak Story

2009 Season: Made her first collegiate appearance on Sept. 29 at Augustana College…tabbed three kills, one dig and one solo block at Augie that evening…put away a season-high five kills twice during the season from the outside…posted a season-best seven digs and two block assists against Wayne State (Neb.) on Oct. 30 in Halenbeck Hall…charted a total of 18 kills, 12 digs, four blocks (1s, 3a) and one assist in 21 sets played as a rookie for the Huskies.

Before SCSU: A native of Lethbridge, Alberta (Canada), where she attended the Catholic Central High School…coached by Gordon Vatcher and Steve Wilson, Novak lettered four times in volleyball as a 5-10 outside hitter…earned All-Region, All-City and First Team All-Star accolades during her prep career, and during the summer months, Novak also participated on the U-16 Team Alberta volleyball squad and the U-17 Canada Prospect team…a two-sport athlete at CCHS, Novak also lettered in track and field and was named her school’s Senior Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Away from athletics, Novak has excelled in the classroom…an honor roll student, Novak was an introductory speaker for Alberta’s Premier, she won her school’s Ambassador Award and was nominated for the Christian Action Award…the daughter of John and Tina Novak, Brittany enjoys golfing, snowboarding, water sports, tap and jazz dancing and volunteering with track and field in her free time…Novak plans to pursue a degree in pre-medicine and minor in general sciences.
