The Shanna Seidel Story
2007 Season: Recorded a career-best 28 digs at Winona State on Oct. 23...played in 111 games for SCSU during her sophomore campaign... completed the season with two kills, 18 set assists, 23 serving aces, and a team third-best 294 digs as a defensive specialist.
2006 Season: Named team Rookie of the Year after recording 151 digs, 14 serving aces, eight set assists and two kills in 2006...charted a career high 12 digs on Sept. 17 against Winona State in a 3-2 Husky victory...appeared in 88 games and tallied a .940 serving percentage.
Before SCSU: A 2006 graduate of Wayzata High School...coached by Scott Jackson... three-year letterwinner in volleyball..led her conference in digs in 2004 and 2005 as a defensive specialist...gained All-Classic Lake Conference honors in 2004 and 2005 and was named Wayzata's Outstanding Teammate Award in 2005...set a school record for serving percentage and service aces in 2003...as a junior, Seidel helped lead Wayzata to a berth in the MSHSL AAA State Tournament at the Xcel Center in St. Paul.
Personal: Daughter of James Seidel of Apple Valley and Janell Brown of Maple Grove...says her mother has had the greatest influence on her career...four-year honor roll student in high school...an accounting major and business minor at SCSU.
