The Kala Jensen Story
2007 Season: The first year middle/right side player played in 70 games for the Cardinal and Black during her first collegiate season...recorded 99 kills, 17 set assists, 18 digs and 38.0 total blocks in in 2007...her 10 kills against Upper Iowa University (8/28/07) and Winona State (10/23/07) were a career/season-best for Jensen...charted a career/season-high 5.0 total blocks at Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 13.
Before SCSU: Graduated from Kingsland High School in 2007…a three-time Three Rivers all-conference player…team captain for two years…named to the 2006 All-State Academic team and was an all-conference academic award winner four years…helped lead her team to the conference championship in 2005…voted her team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player the past two seasons… lettered four times on the KHS basketball team…played an important role in leading the Knights to three team conference championships and two sub-section championships during her prep career… a two-year team captain and 2007 All-State Academic pick…was a four-time all-conference academic choice and was named the Player of the Game numerous times.
Personal: Plans to pursue a degree in graphic design at SCSU….member of the National Honor Society in high school…daughter of Daryl and Deanna Jensen…Presidential Academic Award winner…honor roll student…in her spare time, Jensen likes to draw, sing, play piano and hang out with friends…says her parents have had the greatest influence on her career.
