San Angelo, Texas -- St. Cloud State University junior Heather Miller (Sun Prairie, Wisc.) begins her quest for a national championship at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 21 at the LeGrand Sports Complex in San Angelo, Texas.

Miller will compete in two events at the national championships beginning with the heptathlon events of the 100 hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200 meters at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. On Friday at 11:00 a.m., she will complete the heptathlon with events in the long jump, javelin, and 800 meters.
Later on Friday, Miller will compete in the triple jump. That competition is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m.
Miller is a two-time NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field All-American, as she finished fifth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump in March.
Miller has had an outstanding 2009 season. She won three NSIC outdoor titles in the heptathlon, triple jump and 100 meter hurdles to lead the Huskies to a fifth place conference finish. She was named the NSIC Outdoor Women's Field Athlete of the Year and High Point Performer. During the NSIC indoor season, she won three titles, taking firsts in the pentathlon, triple jump and 55 meter hurdles.
Miller is a 2005 graduate of Columbus High School in Sun Prairie, Wisc.
