UMD Triangular: No team scores

Miller Wins Twice at UMD Triangular

Duluth, Minn. -- St. Cloud State junior Heather Miller (Sun Prairie, Wisc.) won two events at the UMD Triangular held in Duluth on Saturday. St. Cloud State joined Minnesota Duluth and the University of St. Thomas at the meet. Miller won the 100 meter hurdles and the triple jump.

Miller improved her provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump with her winning mark of 38-04.25. She won the 100 meter dash in 14.65.

First year Nish Rubash (New Lisbon, Wisc.) was also a winner on the women's side. Rubash won the high jump with a leap of 5-3. Senior Mikha Tan (Sioux City, Iowa) won the long jump her mark of 17-05.50. Other place winners for the women included senior Amber Schueler (Glencoe) with a second place finish in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.72. First year Lynette Raichle (Owatonna) placed fourth in the 100 meters in 13.62. Raichle also placed fourth in the 200 meter dash in 28.06 and junior Amanda Eggebrecht (St. Cloud) was third in a time of 27.86. Eggebrecht also placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 70-03. First year Brittney Moffatt (Coon Rapids) placed third in the 400 meter dash in 1:02.10. In the 800 meter run sophomore Paula Marozas (Rochester) placed fifth in 2:28.66 and Nish Rubash was sixth in 2:33.47. Senior Crystal Moor(Minneapolis) was fifth in the 100 meter dash in 19.32 and first year Andrea Pfaff (Oakdale) was third in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:18.51. Sophomore Danielle Luhmann (Rushford) was third in the high jump with a mark of 5-1. In the field events, sophomore Rebecca Kitzman (Verona, Wisc.) placed third in the shot put with a toss of 41-03.25 and was sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 138-05. Sophomore Lindsay Conroy (Clearwater) was tenth in the shot put at 35-6 and ninth in the hammer throw at 130-10.

On the men's side, junior Gabe Udia (Inver Grove Heights) won the 100 meter dash in 10.64 and met the NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the event. He also placed second in the 200 meter dash in a time of 21.72. First year Dusty McColley (Franklin) was the winner in the high jump with a leap of 6-4 and he placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 42-00.50. Sophomore Nick Trisko (Melrose) placed second in the 100 meters in 10.69, junior Marcus Jenkins (Long Branch, N.J.) was eight in 11.06, senior Shawn Onken (Eagle Bend) was 12th in 11.42 and sophomore Jeremy Davis (Champlin Park) was 13th in 11.49. In the 200 meters, sophomore Chris Lefler (Foley) placed seventh in 22.75, Kennedy Ewafada was tenth in 23.28 and Onken was 12th in 23.42. In the 400 meter dash, junior David Queck (Annandale) placed fifth in 51.52, first year Luke Windholz (South St. Paul) was sixth in 52.11, Ewafada was ninth in 54.47 and sophomore Matt Main (Webster, Wisc.) was tenth in 54.89. First year runners David Pieper (Plover, Wisc.) was first in the 3000 meter run in a time of 9.49.93 and Luke Jordan (Maple Plain) was second with his time of 9:55.69. First year Shamus O'Grady (Coon Rapids) was fourth in the 5000 meter run. Jenkins and Davis placed third and fourth in the 100 meter hurdles. Jenkins ran the hurdles in 15.36 and Davis in 15.89. Junior Cris Jirele (Medford) ran the 400 meter hurdles in 59.77 to place fifth. In the pole vault, junior Shawn Paschke (Moorhead) was fourth (14-00), first year Andrew Fuller (Faribault) was fifth (13-05.75), first year William Brenny (Clear Lake) was sixth (12-11.75) and first year Nick Nellis (Waupaca, Wisc.) was seventh (12-11.75). Junior Brock Veth (Ham Lake) was eight in the long jump (18-03.25) and ninth in the javelin throw (123-03). In other field events, junior Christian Berg (Foley) placed ninth in the shot put (30-05.00), eighth in the discus (111-06). Junior Andrew Stueck (Madison, Wisc.) was third in the javelin (156-05) followed by Nellis in fifth (129-10).
