St. Paul, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University women's track and field team endured rain and cool temperatures to compete in the Tommie Twilight held Wednesday night on the University of St. Thomas campus in St. Paul.
Junior Heather Miller (Sun Prairie, WI) won her only event of the evening, the triple jump, with a leap of 37'9 1/2".
Senior Amber Schueler (Glencoe) and sophomore Rebecca Kitzman (Verona, WI) each had a second place finish. Schueler was second in the long jump with a mark of 17'4 3/4". Kitzman threw the shot 40'3 1/4" to place second.
Schueler competed in two other events and placed third in the 100 meter dash in 13.29 and ninth in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:07.10.
Kitzman also finished seventh in the hammer throw at 136'2" and was eighth in the discus with a mark of 108'5".
Sophomore Kelsey King (Lakeville) placed third in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:03.33.
Junior Amanda Eggebrecht (St. Cloud) placed ninth in the javelin with a throw of 83'7" and was 20th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.88. Sophomore Cheryl Hundt (Bangor, WI) placed 19th in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01.74 and first year Andrea Pfaff (Oakdale) was 31st in teh 400 meters in a time of 1:09.67.
First year Lynette Raichle (Owatonna) placed 25th in the 200 meter dash in 29.20.
First year runners Keely and Nish Rubash (New Lisbon, WI) placed fourth and sixth respectively in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Keely finished the race in 11:45.23 and Nish had a time of 12:41.47. Nish also competed in the high jump where she placed sixth at a height of 5'1 1/4".
Senior Mikha Tan (Sioux City, IA) had a sixth place finish in the long jump with a mark kof 16'6".
Sophomore Lindsay Conroy (Clearwater) competed in three event during the evening. She finished 13th in the shot put with a toss of 33'11 1/2", was 14th in the discus with a mark of 90'8" and went 104' in the hammer for 19th place.
