Indianola, Iowa -- St. Cloud State's Danielle Luhmann (Rushford) and Gabe Udia (Inver Grove Heights) won events at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College on Friday.
Luhmann, a sophomore tied for first place in the high jump with a height of 5'5". A junior, Udia won the 100 meter dash in 10.98. He also placed second in the 200 meter dash in 22.07.
Other finishers for the women included a second place finish in the 3000m steeplechase for first year Keely Rubash (New Lisbon, WI). She finished the event in 11:34.23. Senior Mikha Tan (Sioux City, IA) placed third in the long jump with a mark of 17'8" and senior Amber Schueler (Glencoe) placed fifth with a jump of 17'7 1/2". Junior Amanda Eggebrecht (St. Cloud) placed 17th in the 200 meter dash in 28.28 and sophomore Cheryl Hundt (Bangor, WI) was 20th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:09.37.
On the men's side, sophomore Dan Allen (Waite Park) placed third in the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:03.85. Junior David Queck (Annandale) was tenth in the 400 meter dish in 50.67 and junior Marcus Jenkins (Long Branch, NJ) placed 11th in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.78.
