Cobber Twilight: Men-5th, Women-7th

Moorhead, Minn. -- Several members of the St. Cloud State men's and women's track and field team competed at the Cobber Twilight held Tuesday evening on the campus of Concordia College in Moorhead. The Husky men's team placed fifth and the women seventh at the event.
Juniors Gabe Udia (Inver Grove Heights) and Marcus Jenkins (Long Branch, NJ) had winning races to lead the men. Udia won the 100 meter dasth in 11.10 and placed second in the 200 meter dash in 21.97.
Jenkins won the 110 meter hurdles in 15.29 and placed fifth in the 100 meter dash in 11.47. Other contributors to the Huskies scoring included sophomore Jeremy Davis (Champlin Park) who placed third in the 400 meter dash in 52.30 and was eighth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.94.
First year athletes William Brenny (Clear Lake) and Andrew Fuller (Faribault) placed in the pole vault. Brenny finished third at a height of 13-9 1/4 and Fuller tied for fourth at 13-3 1/2.
Other Husky performances included a 12th place finish in the 200 meters by junior David Queck (Annandale) in 23.21. Sophomore Matt Main (Webster, WI) placed ninth in the 400 meters in 54.93 and was 12th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:07.65. First year Nick Nellis (Waupaca, WI) was 11th in the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 18.27.
The men scored 62.5 points to finish fifth in the meet. Concordia College won the team title with 184.2 points.
On the women's side, senior Amber Schueler (Glencoe) placed in three events to lead the Huskies. Schueler was third in the 200 meter dash in 26.26, third in the long jump with a mark of 17-7 1/2 and fourth in the 100 meter dash in 13.21. Senior Mikha Tan (Sioux City, IA) placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 17-4 3/4.
First year Lynette Raichle (Owatonna) placed 16th in the 200 meter dash in 28.53 and ninth in the 400 meter dash in 68.08. First year Andrea Pfaff (Oakdale) placed tenth in the 400 meter dash in a time of 70.03.
The women tallied 23 points and Concordia College was the winning team with 243 points.
