2008: Was a member of the basketball team, forcing her to miss indoor portion of season…best showing of the year came at St. Thomas Open with three-top ten finishes in the shot put (6th / 35’10.5”), discus (3rd / 131’8”) and hammer throw (105’7”)…had three other top-ten results with fifth place in the shot (10.61m) at Morris, ninth in the shot (11.59m) at the Tommie Twilight and a seventh place mark (125’2”) at the NCC Championships in the discus…best discus mark came in the form of 36.25 meter toss at Bison Open…best toss in the hammer came at Kip Janvrin Open with a 33.47 mark…
High School: 2007 graduate of Verona Area High School…two sport athlete competing in basketball and track & field…two-time Captain in track & field where qualified for the state meet in both the Shot Put and Discus…as a sophomore was fourth in state in Discus…as a junior was again fourth in the Discus and also eighth in the Shot Put…a two-time team Captain on the hardwood, was named second team All-Area by the Wisconsin State Journal and the Capital Times…an All-Conference performer as a junior and senior.
Personal: Daughter of Jeff and Mandy Kitzman of Verona, Iowa…lists Serena Williams as her favorite sports personality and her father as the person with the greatest influence on her career…majoring in education at SCSU.
